Privacy Policy

This is a translation for your convenience. In case of any discrepancy, the German version (Datenschutzerklärung) shall prevail.

Protecting your data matters to us. This policy explains which personal data we process on this website, for what purpose, on what legal basis and for how long — in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the Austrian Data Protection Act (DSG) and the Austrian Telecommunications Act 2021 (TKG 2021).

2. In brief

  • This website sets no analytics or marketing cookies and uses no tracking.
  • Fonts are loaded from our own server — there is no connection to Google Fonts.
  • Google Maps is loaded only after you consent.
  • We use data from the reservation form solely to process your request.

3. Hosting and server log files

This website is hosted by World4You Internet Services GmbH, Wolfgang-Pauli-Straße 2, 4020 Linz, Austria. The servers are located in data centres in Linz and Vienna, so the data does not leave Austria. Our email mailbox is provided by the same company. When you visit the website, the server processes technically necessary data: IP address, date and time of access, page requested, amount of data transferred, browser and operating system, and the previously visited page (referrer).

Purpose: delivering the website, stability and security (e.g. defending against attacks). Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in secure operation). Retention period: 2 weeks; after that the hosting provider deletes the log files automatically. A data processing agreement pursuant to Art. 28 GDPR is in place with the hosting provider.

4. Reservation requests via the form

When you send a reservation request via the form, we process the following data: name, email address, phone number (optional), requested date, time, number of guests and your message (optional).

Purpose: processing and confirming your reservation and any related questions. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (steps taken at your request prior to entering into a contract). Without your name, email address, date, time and number of guests we cannot process your request.

Transmission and storage: The form is processed directly on our hosting provider's server (see section 3) and sent as an email to our mailbox at World4You and, as a copy, to another mailbox of the restaurant at Gmail. Gmail is a service of Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland; a transfer to Google LLC in the USA is possible (certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, adequacy decision of the European Commission dated 10 July 2023). We also store the request on our hosting provider's server to display it in our internal reservation calendar. This calendar is not publicly accessible.

Please do not share health data in the form (e.g. allergies or intolerances) — feel free to talk to us about this directly at the restaurant or by phone.

Retention period: We delete reservation requests 3 months after the reservation date and they are then automatically removed from the reservation calendar, unless statutory retention obligations apply.

5. Contact by email or phone

If you contact us by email or phone, we process your details to handle your enquiry (Art. 6(1)(b) or (f) GDPR) and delete them as soon as they are no longer needed for this purpose and no statutory retention obligations apply.

6. Cookies and storage of your consent

This website itself sets no cookies. To store your choice in the privacy banner (“Accept” or “Decline”), we save the entry consent-external-v1 in your browser's local storage (localStorage). It contains only your choice, no personal data, and is not transmitted to us. This storage is technically necessary to respect your choice (§ 165(3) TKG 2021).

You can withdraw your consent at any time: via the “Cookie settings” link at the bottom of the page or by deleting the website data in your browser.

7. Google Maps (only with consent)

On the home page you can choose to display a map from Google Maps. The provider is Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland.

The map is not loaded automatically. Instead, you first see a graphic with a “Load map” button (two-click solution). Only when you click this button or choose “Accept” in the banner is a connection to Google's servers established. In particular, your IP address, date and time and information about your browser may be transmitted to Google, and Google may set cookies.

Legal basis: your consent pursuant to Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR and § 165(3) TKG 2021. Consent is voluntary and can be withdrawn at any time with effect for the future (see section 6).

Transfer to third countries: A transfer to Google LLC in the USA is possible. Google LLC is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, for which an adequacy decision of the European Commission dated 10 July 2023 exists. More information: Google's privacy policy.

Alternatively, you can use the “Open route in Google Maps” link — this takes you away from our website.

8. Fonts

The fonts used on this website (Fraunces, Sora) are stored locally on our server. Loading the page does not establish any connection to third-party servers, in particular not to Google.

9. Your rights

You have the right at any time to:

  • access the data stored about you (Art. 15 GDPR)
  • rectification of inaccurate data (Art. 16 GDPR)
  • erasure (Art. 17 GDPR)
  • restriction of processing (Art. 18 GDPR)
  • data portability (Art. 20 GDPR)
  • object to processing (Art. 21 GDPR)
  • withdraw consent with effect for the future (Art. 7(3) GDPR)

Simply contact us at office@mansei-wien.at.

If you believe that the processing of your data violates data protection law, you can lodge a complaint with the supervisory authority: Austrian Data Protection Authority (Datenschutzbehörde), Barichgasse 40–42, 1030 Vienna, www.dsb.gv.at.
